Rebuilding Your Life, One Step at a Time
For most people, simple, everyday tasks and activities are taken for granted – but for those who have experienced physical injury or disease impairment, these skills must be completely relearned.
Physical limitations, pain and emotional challenges can make recovery feel uncertain, but with the right partner, patients can gain the skills needed to rebuild their lives. For many patients, inpatient rehabilitation provides the structure, expertise and daily support needed to make meaningful progress.
Your Partner in Recovery
At the Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institutes in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Conway and El Dorado, we offer patients the care they need to help them restore as much function as possible after a major medical event. We take the hard cases, and our interdisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation teams are well versed in the needs of patients and their families who are navigating a life-altering experience.
Inpatient rehabilitation is centered on life after rehab and revolves around helping patients regain capabilities needed to transition home.
During their stay at Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute, patients spend an average of three hours a day, at least five days a week in a mix of therapy sessions customized to their condition, which may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy. Other services such as recreational therapy, dietary guidance, and neuropsychology may also be part of the inpatient journey.
Patients benefit from the latest technology in inpatient rehabilitation. For example, at Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute-Little Rock, we offer the Lokomat, a robot-assisted gait training device to help patients relearn to walk; the Bioness H200 neuroelectric stimulator, a device to help patients regain arm and hand function, and the Virage VS500M-R Driving Simulator, an immersive virtual driving experience to help patients get back on the road safely.
Maintaining a strong continuum of care is essential for lasting recovery. When appropriate, we coordinate outpatient therapy or home health services after discharge to continue reinforcing the progress made during inpatient treatment.
The professionals at Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institutes have the skills, equipment and facilities to simulate the types of mobility situations that will challenge patients in their homes. With fully-equipped kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms with accessible toilets, tubs and showers, we can simulate each patient’s home setting which results in efficient training and better carry-over after discharge.
Our comprehensive, customized approach to rehabilitative care has led to Baptist Health Rehabilitation being named among the top rehabilitation facilities in the nation for outstanding clinical outcomes.
Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute-Little Rock is the only inpatient rehabilitation facility in Arkansas to hold Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) specialty accreditations in brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputee rehabilitation. Additionally, it was the first CARF-accredited stroke program in the state.

Choosing a Rehabilitation Facility
Choosing a rehabilitation facility is one of the most important decisions you'll make during recovery. Beyond therapy programs and locations, it's important to consider the experience of the care team, the range of services available, access to advanced technology, treatment outcomes and the level of support provided to patients and families.
Questions like "Will my care be personalized?" "What therapies are available?" and "How will this help me get back to my life?" can help guide your decision.
At Baptist Health Rehabilitation, we believe that though recovery looks different for everyone, our goal for each of our patients remains the same – helping you discover what a full, meaningful life looks like for you after illness, injury or any other medical event.

Through compassionate care, advanced treatment options and a commitment to helping patients move forward, we guide you through every step of the rehabilitation process. Our approach to comprehensive rehabilitation is designed to help patients regain strength, confidence and independence.
