Education & Residency Programs

Baptist Health has a long history of providing academic, mentoring, and education assistance to Arkansans called to serve in the healthcare field. Our future depends on the ability to develop the personal and professional skills and capabilities of physicians, clinicians, and staff.

Founded in 1920, Baptist Health College Little Rock offers nine programs of study in nursing and allied health.

All new graduate RNs hired into Baptist Health will automatically be enrolled into one of the Baptist Health Nurse Residency Programs.

Baptist Health also offers postgraduate year one Pharmacy Residency Programs accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists at both Little Rock and North Little Rock campuses.

Mindful of the national shortage of primary care physicians and the expanding health care needs in Arkansas, Baptist Health and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences partnered to create the Baptist Health – University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Graduate Medical Education Program.

Registered Nurse Residency Program

The Baptist Health RN Residency is designed to provide educational development opportunities to equip the new graduate Registered Nurse with the knowledge and skill needed to smoothly transition to practice.

Pharmacy Residency Program

Baptist Health offers postgraduate year one (PGY1) residency programs accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) at both Little Rock (BHMC-LR) and North Little Rock (BHMC-NLR) campuses.

Baptist Health-UAMS Medical Education Program

Baptist Health system and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences have partnered to create the Baptist Health – University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Graduate Medical Education Program.

Baptist Health-Fort Smith Emergency Medicine Fellowship

Baptist Health-Fort Smith offers an outstanding opportunity for family physicians who desire further training in emergency medicine and to become board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS).
