Baptist Health patients have access to virtual and telephone translation services 24/7 to ensure that they receive effective communication. More than 200 audio languages are available through Stratus interpretation services. American Sign Language (ASL) virtual translation is also offered for patients requiring an ASL interpreter.

Preparing to Be Discharged
Before you think you’ll be able to leave from your hospital stay, go through the checklist below to make your discharge process as smooth as possible.
- Have your photo ID and insurance card prepared to present before you leave.
- Make sure you have comfortable clothes for when you leave the hospital.
- Be sure you have any keys you will need at discharge (for home, automobile, etc).
- Arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home.
- Find out if you can pick up any medications you’ll need from the hospital before you leave or if you need to enlist a friend or family member to pick up your prescriptions from your pharmacy.
Discharge Process
At Baptist Health, your discharge process will vary depending on the unit you’re being discharged from and the hospital you are leaving.
Your care team will brief you and your caretaker on your discharge process to ensure a safe and easy transfer when you leave the hospital. All of our hospitals and facilities have a designated discharge area with convenient access to parking to ensure you can easily begin your journey home.
If you are being discharged from one facility and transferred to another for further care, Baptist Health will walk you and your loved ones through each step of the move to your next stage of treatment.
Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock Discharge Hospitality Center
For those discharged from our hospital in Little Rock, the Discharge Hospitality Center provides a comfortable area to schedule follow-up appointments, fill prescriptions, enjoy refreshments and more while waiting on your caretaker pick you up from our convenient curbside location.
