Below is a message regarding a network disruption for patients with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage

2027 Health Plan Negotiations & Network Updates

Last Updated: November 6, 2026

IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE:  Your Care is Uninterrupted for 2026

Nothing changes for your care or coverage for the remainder of this year. All current insurance contracts remain fully in place through December 31, 2026. You should keep your scheduled appointments, procedures, and doctor visits at all Baptist Health facilities and with Arkansas Health Group providers.

2027 Medicare Advantage Plans

As of the date of this communication, Baptist Health does not yet have a 2027 contract with the following Medicare Advantage plan(s):

  • UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage

Negotiations are ongoing, but we feel it is appropriate to advise our community that we do not have a contract for 2027 and are unsure if we will reach an agreement prior to January 1.

State of Arkansas Retirees: This potential network change does not affect State and Public School retirees enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare ARBenefits Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan. You may continue receiving care at Baptist Health without interruption.

View the patient notice sent to Baptist Health Medicare patients below.

2027 Commercial Insurance and Exchange Plans

We are actively negotiating renewal contracts with commercial (employer sponsored) and exchange health plans.  While negotiations continue, we have not yet reached an agreement with all plans for 2027. We will provide detailed commercial plan updates and member communications later in November as notification deadlines approach.

Please note: In an emergency, you should always go to the nearest emergency department. Emergency medical services are covered at in-network benefit levels regardless of contract status.

Sincerely,

Baptist Health & Arkansas Health Group

Patient Notice

November 6, 2026

Dear Baptist Health Patient,

Baptist Health is committed to ensuring you have uninterrupted access to your doctors and high-quality, patient-centered care.

Important Notice for the Remainder of 2026:

Nothing changes for your care or coverage for the rest of this year. All current contracts remain in place through December 31, 2026. You should keep all scheduled doctor visits, procedures, and appointments as planned.

Why You Are Receiving This Notice:

Each year, we negotiate with insurance companies to maintain fair, sustainable agreements. While we successfully renew with most health plans, negotiations for 2027 with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage are ongoing, and we do not currently have an agreement in place for next year.

Because Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment closes on December 7, 2026, we want to ensure you have the information you need before enrollment ends. If we do not reach an agreement with UnitedHealthcare before January 1, 2027, their Medicare Advantage plans may become out-of-network.

  • State of Arkansas Retirees: This potential network change does not affect State and Public School retirees enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare ARBenefits Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan. You may continue receiving care at Baptist Health without interruption.

Review Your 2027 Medicare Advantage Options:

If you have Original Medicare or an in-network Medicare Advantage plan, your access will not change in 2027. Please review the information below to see the plans that are contracted and in-network with Baptist Health for 2027.

Need Help Reviewing Your Plan Options?

To select a plan that keeps your Baptist Health doctors in-network, you can contact your local insurance agent, an independent licensed Medicare advisor such as Chapter, at 855-219-2855 (or visit askchapter.org/baptisthealth), or call 1-888-BAPTIST. You are also free to use any licensed insurance agent or broker of your choice.

Sincerely,

Baptist Health & Arkansas Health Group
