A message regarding potential network disruption for patients with Aetna insurance.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Baptist Health recently welcomed Mark Hardin, MD, and John Wise, PA, to the team at Baptist Health Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic.
Dr. Hardin, a Little Rock native, specializes in adult heart surgery, performing complex procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair or replacement, and repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms. After earning his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2007, he completed a General Surgery residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, from 2007 to 2013.
He then served as a general surgeon in the U.S. Army from 2013 to 2018, including multiple overseas deployments supporting combat operations. After completing his military service, Dr. Hardin pursued further training in cardiothoracic surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center from 2018-2021, and has been practicing as a cardiac surgeon in Little Rock since 2021. He is board certified in both General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
"My practice philosophy is simple: to take care of patients the way I would want myself or my family to be taken care of," said Dr. Hardin.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Hardin enjoys spending time with his wife, Whitney, and their three children, often attending the kids' ballgames. His personal interests also include visiting the lake, taking road trips, and exploring national parks.
Wise brings more than 20 years of health care experience to Baptist Health Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic. The Memphis native enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his friends and family.
